Sustainability

Generating sustainable value

At SDA Bocconi, sustainability takes shape through concrete choices: in responsible campus design, multidisciplinary research, impact-oriented teaching, and programs that train responsible leaders. Four directions, one goal: to generate sustainable value for people, organizations and the planet.

Our campuses

Our campuses embody a concrete vision of sustainability. The one in Milano, designed according to Near Zero Energy principles, is at the heart of our commitment to a low-emission future. Powered 100 percent by energy from renewable sources and equipped with a photovoltaic system with over 1.2 MW of installed capacity, it represents a concrete model of energy transition. It has achieved LEED Platinum certification, the highest international recognition for sustainable architecture, and has been recognized by the Financial Times as the most sustainable campus globally. The Villa Morgagni campus in Roma also reflects this commitment: a space designed to foster connections, dialogue and growth, while respecting the historical context and looking toward the future.

About us

Research in sustainability

Research is a fundamental pillar of our business, also when it comes to sustainability. Through laboratories, monitors and specialized centers such as the Sustainability Lab, we develop scientific knowledge useful in addressing the most pressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Our projects integrate quantitative and qualitative methodologies to support businesses, institutions and nonprofit organizations on their path to more sustainable models. Academic contributions, collaborations and shared research platforms strengthen the link between theory and practice, generating impact and expertise in line with the goals of Agenda 2030.

Teaching sustainability

Teaching sustainability means training leaders who are aware of their impact. The SDA Bocconi faculty integrates sustainability in content, methods and teaching tools, offering an approach that combines theoretical rigor and concrete application. Interactive lectures, field projects, case studies, and testimonials allow environmental, social, and governance issues to be addressed from a multidisciplinary and international perspective. Thus we prepare people capable of driving change and generating sustainable value in every sector.
